Thank you for asking a good question. And thank you for taking the time to want to learn.

Judaism is one of the world's oldest religions. It's basically simple. There is one God (not two, not three, not thousands). He (always he, although some Jews think God might be a she! ;-)) protects us and guides us but also judges us. To help his people to succeed, he inspired the Jews to create a series of laws. These commandments (613 in all!) help keep Jews on the straight and narrow.

One big difference between Judaism and other religions is that Judaism really focuses on life now, not some potential afterlife. Life is short, so God wants us to make the most of it by being the best people we can be. It's not about being rich or famous: it's about making the world a better place for future generations. It's about meeting out potential. It's about leaving the world better than you found it.

Unfortauntely, like other religions, Judaism has its share of fundamentalists. They view the laws as absolute and often get so caught up in the precise following of all the restrictions that they lose some sight of the overall point of the exercise.

Judaism stresses individual thought, the ability to reason for oneself, and constant questioning of authority. That's why many great scientists, like Albert Einstein, have been Jewish.

Islam is actually not too different from Judaism, and for many centuries, our faiths got along swimmingly (think ancient Al-Andalus or medieval Baghdad). Both faiths have a holy book with laws to follow. Both faiths put emphasis on this life and one's actions in this world. Unfortunately, politics have gotten in the way of respectful dialogue.

Thank you for giving me the opporuntity to answer a little bit and maybe start our faiths back on the road to mutual respect!

its hard to cram a religion into a couple of sentences but in short judaism believes that G-d is absolutely one and indivisible, and has no rival power either. judaism believes that the torah was given by G-d as a guidebook to life. judaism believes that it is good deeds and following G-ds will which is most important (G-ds will for the jews is to follow the 613 commandments of the torah, G-ds will for the non-jews is to follow the 7 basic moral laws).

EDIT

most of these posters are just christians who want to prove that jesus is our messiah. if you are interested in reading up on why jews reject christianity, here is a good site : http://www.whatjewsbelieve.org/

Hello,

All during the Old Testament the message of the coming of the Messiah (Savior) was to be born. Everything came true, but the Jewish people would not believe Jesus was the Messiah (Savior) even though everything written about his birth came true.

The Jewish don't believe that Jesus is the son of God. They believe he was just a good man. They are still under the old Law told about in the Old Testament.

I hope you will ask God to help you understand. Jesus gave his life for us! He is our Savior and we have forgiveness if we ask him. HE IS THE WAY , THE TRUTH, AND THE LIGHT :)

Thank you also for asking. I hope you get understanding and truth of Christianity. Not every church is the same. Trust the Bible. Sincerely.

That is a real big Order. It is like a Jew asking you to tell them about Islam. Pretty big challange for YA. Start to Read the Bible at the First book (Genesis) and read through the 39 books until you get to Malachi. Then you can start on the Talmud.

I would suggest looking into http://www.jewfaq.org since it is very easy to read and has basic information for both Jews and non Jews alike.

Law Law: Matthew 22: 36-40
The 2nd(Law) is like the 1st(Law).
Law Law: Romans 8:2
The 1st is Sin and Death.
Law Law is a DEAD end.

Try(test drive) the Spirits(Gods):
Law isn't sufficient, try Grace.
Grace is sufficient, flush Law.

Enmity: I will forsake you, the city, your fathers... Law
Friend: I will never leave thee nor forsake thee... Grace
Christ is our peace who hath abolished the law(enmity).

Going from Muslim to Judaism is as Law Law as it gets.
Going "from faith to faith" is from blind faith to seeing faith.
ChanGed: "from glory to glory": from law glory to grace glory.
Solomon: understanding result: crowned with "grace glory".

With all thy getting, get "understanding"["grace glory"]: Prov 4.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ WITH YOU ALL. AMEN.
