Well it's sort of annoying that everyone is saying that Halloween isn't a religious holiday.. Because it is!

However, if everyone went by that ruling, Christians wouldn't go trick or treating either.. It IS a Pagan holiday after all.

I think that marketing has turned Halloween into a purely commercial and fun holiday. I don't think you or anyone else should see a problem with you bringing a child trick or treating, provided you aren't celebrating Samhain according to the Pagan tradition! :)

You are kidding right? Nothing christian about Halloween or any other holiday out there. Most holidays are based on pagan rituals. Easter -- based on the worship of a Goddes. Xmas and New Years based based on sun worship. Anyone can find the meaning of these holidays in the Encyclopedia Britannica and others.

Yes . Halloween has nothing t do with your religious beliefs. it a time to just dress up and have fun for children. Getting candies and some good exercise. plus u r the atheist your child should make their own descision on that subject when they are old enough.

If you go waaayyyy back in time, it was a religious holiday. Now, it's just one of those fun things for all kids to do. I don't see a reason why any form of religion, or lack there of, can not allow their children to enjoy the fun of dressing up and asking for candy. Just please accompany your child and inspect their candy and make it a fun experience for your child to remember.
