I asked this question yesterday but it was at like 3AM so I want more opinions so I'm asking in the daytime...

What do you think the military will be like in the future?
Drafting of special children for the military?
Robots?
Unmanned Pilots?
Etc. Etc. Etc.?

What year do you estimate this might happen?

As it is going currently you will be able to go directly from e-games into combat in a ever more automated military. The games will be your basic training.

We will never draft children of any kind into the military. Robots and Unmanned pilots are already a reality.

The Future is now. As the Iraq Occupation persists and intensifies. up to now the US has been catering to the Military industrial complex. We have the technical capability to bring this to closure at any point by deploying the special technologies. I believe The 4 Ace win is reserved for a War of a larger nature.
What type of special children do you refer too? later part of 4th quarter of 2006, This year

Almost certainly the military will function more and more as a useful part of society, they will continue to work hand in hand with aid agencies, building roads and helping where natural disasters strike. They will be seriously involved in reclaiming degraded land and deserts, and in destroying the 1,000s of square miles of minefields left over from the warring past.
They will plant new forests, and find new ways for people to live happily together while preserving the natural resources of our planet.

Well, the lost wars in Afghanistan and Iraq prove that it's obsolete.
Iraq should be carpet bombed and buldozed. Too bad we can't fight a war like the Israelis- to win at all costs.
