That depends on which account you're looking at. The Protoevangelium of James has her living in the Temple and serving as a vestal virgin. According to that tradition, she grew up in Jerusalem. Other traditions have her born in Bethlehem.
The Protoevangelium doesn't give her an actual birthplace, but several other apocryphal texts do. It depends on where you look. The Bible has nothing to say on the subject.

Nazareth in Galilee is where Mary is presumed to have been born and came from. The reason Jesus was born in Bethleheim was due to a call for a census that required Joseph and Mary to travel there. Bethleheim being the major town in the area.
