Pergunte a um brasileiro como eu (ask a real brazilian guy like me).
Well ... Brazil is a very large country with many diferent cultures. A lot of imigrants came here form other countries, most of germans (living in the south), japanese and chinese (in são Paulo), italians ( really a LOT) in many regions, lebaneses and spanish. Portugueses, of course - they discovered the country and no, we dont speak spanish at all !!
We had slavery just like you, so there are afro descendant people too.
The interesting thing is that exists even a colony of north americans here (a city named Americana, also in São Paulo) founded by your people in the time of your civil war.
Sorry for any mistakes, I learned your language only watching your cable TV (and yes, we have cable tv ... but never watch superball, hehehe)

Today Brazil is justifiably famous for the Amazon River; Carnival in Rio; the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema; its many champion soccer teams, and of course, for the amazing collection of organized diversity of cultures and population etnicity.
