why does he let us reproduce in the hell he created? isn't that voyeuristic sadism?

I believe it's all like a kids story too. Good morals - in places - but easily forged and manipulated. If there's a real truth, it would be too shocking and advanced for mere humans. And may not even be about mans struggle. You don't know what wants humankind to be passive.

Interesting Shadowmyu. I sense you are left of right on this. Your sense is admirable and your reason is admirable. But any parent would not leave the safety-gate open or even tempt fete for their children.- maybe.

Respectfully.

apple??? what apple? Shows that you haven't read Berashith (Genesis to you). Go back, read it and tell use where this apple appears.

Bearing in mind that the bible is mostly myth and legend with a bit of somewhat distorted history thrown in, it may make a basis for teaching ethics to a primitive society but most of it is lost in the modern world.

It's time to study religion as an aspect of anthropology and psychology, not as reality.

It might also be of use to the military as a means of coercing the troops to fight hard. You know, the "Kill and spare not" bit. Oh yes, a few spare pre-pubertal virgins might help too (if you fancy the mohommedan beliefs.

The "fall" of man is the result of a negative view of history, not of an innate evil.

The meaning of the Eden parable is this: Humans developed from animal to person through natural process (snake fulfilling its nature as a hunter, apple fulfilling its as a source of nutrition, humans satisfying theirs' as curious seekers of development), but as a result of these processes can no longer coexist with nature in the same way, instead forging its own communities separated from it.

There is no sin in what Mankind has done. In gaining conscience and self-analysing thought, it has caused itself to leave the garden; nothing more or less. To view this as a punishment is to be unjustly harsh on the role God has played.

you're operating from countless pretend premises. a million. God does no longer tell "us" now to not kill in the ten commandments. God informed the Israelites now to not commit homicide in the ten commandments. You weren't in any respect a social gathering to that "old" covenant, and God does no longer take care of us illegally. 2. The commandment in context is about homicide; an act of homicide. the ten are a "bill of rights" of God and fellow guy in words of the man. 3. Your definition of killing is out of your attitude, and not in any respect God's. 4. definite, God knew that many might want to not in any respect repent, and this replaced into part of the fee to pay with the intention to have some that would want to obtain eternal life. do not blame God on your judgements. .

If I believed in a god like that, I would wholeheartedly agree.People have used religion as a license to make them voyeristic sadists.

And it will never change until we all accpet our own Godhood.Follow the example of the rebel Gods in the mythos of the world's religions (Satan, Lucifer, Prometheus, Dionysus, Melek Taus, Et al) and it will be YOU that you see seated on the celestial throne above all of the bleating sheep who will beg you for your favors.

God is a myth ! If there really was one, then he would have to
be a big jerk to let so many innocent people suffer while other
jerks slip away.

God forgives doesn't he?

Granted, we exist in this hell, but we're supposed to live a good life.

If God does exist shouldn't he update his "Commandments" vis a vis "Do not download porn from the internet" and "Thou shalt not covert thy neighbours pc"?
