It's totally normal to feel very upset over this type of loss, and OK (and maybe even therapeutic) to cry. Trouble is in our society men often get the idea it's "not manly" to cry.

In fact crying is part of a normal reaction to severe loss, and may help relieve some of the tension which results. Remember, average length of time to recover from major personal loss is 12- 18 months!

Well, if you think it's unmanly, then don't cry and suck it up. (not to sound rude) But if you were in love with her so much that you did anything for her, then go ahead and let it all out. Sorry about the misfortune!

Are you kidden? unmanly? cry however you want and as long as you want. This is same chemistry as how you feel about someone when you fall in love (some might say even this is "unmanly"), and you feel same when you lose someone you love. These are natural and not in your reach.

I feel sorry for you. I remember I've cried onces... damn those tears tastes salty!! I cried until I felt i was dehydrating (watch out for that)

It depends in what is your philosophy of man. One thing for sure is that crying help release the stress rather than keep it in your heart. If it makes you feel good go ahead with it, but I don't think I would be able to cry for such thing. One more thing. Make sure you are close to a female that you like becuase girls will love you for your emotions. However, you can have emotions and not cry. It is a psychological view.

I'll put it this way... If it is unmanly to cry... tuck it back and ball away. I know how u feel and believe me, I've had my fair share of tears from it. I didn't tuck it back, but ya know, whatever floats your boat. Let the tears flow, man. Cuz it takes a real man to cry...

I dont know why people feel that men should not feel emotions. It is okay to cry. it is a human emotion and men are human. Go ahead and cry if that is what you feel like doing. There is nothing wrong with that and as a matter of fact, you will feel better after you have yourself a good cry.

Well first things first. There's nothing wrong with a good cry. my husband is a grown man and if he gets real sad he cry's. it is a very normal emotion. As far as the girl ? there are plenty of fish in the sea. and you will find that "TIME HEALS ALL WOUNDS'', as the days turn to weeks and then months, things will get easier. so have a good cry and go hang with your buddy's. try to keep your mind busy.
