Did muhammed really have sex with a child?

If he did, wasn't there laws or customs against that?
Or, was it a "marriage" without sexual relations?

What muhammed did or didn't do should have little or no bearing on what YOU do. Unless you are considering islam as a religion to practice. And even then you should weigh the belief system of the religion and not really an individual who was man.

He married Aisha at age six and consummated the marriage when she turned nine. From what I've read, she probably began puberty at age nine, and nobody at that time seemed to think that the marriage between a 50+ and a 9 year old was out of the ordinary. Additionally, everyone in the family seemed rather happy about the marriage.
I personally cannot seem to get past the "having sex with a nine year old". I have read that back in those days they felt that at puberty, "women" are supposed to be able to have children, so that is the reason they (in the ancient times) thought it was alright. However, they could see that young girls who became pregnant often died during childbirth, because (among other reasons) their hips weren't wide enough yet. So saying, "it's fine to have sex with a nine year old because she has had her first period" is idiotic. And cruel. And it would have been very painful for her - she simply could not have been big enough (if you get my meaning) to have sex with a full grown man.

The Prophet Mohammad Married 12 wives. One that I highly admire was his 2nd wife which he didn’t marry till his first wife of 25 yrs died. This woman was Sadaw she was an older woman about 70 to 0 years old. It is said that she was very beautiful and she might have been over weight. Why did he marry her? It was because she was with out a husband because her husband died. She had no family and being an older woman no one to care for her. This shows the kindness that he had to help care for her.
Ok no Aishia was as told 6yrs old when she was married to him and nine when they consummated the marriage. Now in the western mind (By the way I am a western) they think wow this age is to young. However in that time woman lived to be 30 yrs and that was old not like today. At that time woman matured fast, unlike today. Even into the early 1900 in the United States there were marriages of girls to old farmers of girls as young as 10 maybe even younger. This was due to the fact of the hardship of life in the old times.
As for Aishia, she was loved by the Prophet Mohammad. He would race her all the time. He would send girls from the neighbors to play dolls with her.
What people nowadays can’t get past is time has changed and they get stuck in their mind that this was sick. To be honest these type of people I lose respect for because they can really think from their brain and only from the heart.
Also as in today’s society there isn’t recommended to have these marriages because the girls aren’t matured at this age any more.

yes he did have sex with aisha, who he married age 6, when she was 9. and it seems muslims feel that was ok it still goes on in some muslim countrys older men can marry children maybe age 12. it is ment to be after puberty which is getting younger.

At the time this happened, marrying young was normal. Girls mature more quickly. I'm not saying I agree with it, but this is why it happened.
