Because the are not really Christians.
Christians turn the other cheek and love their enemy's.

I guess some Christians support the Iraq war because Saddam Husein was a murderous dictator who was bent on supporting terrorism and developing weapons of mass destruction and his sons would terrorize women by capturing them and putting them in "rape rooms".
As to whether or not President Bush was actually told by God to attack Iraq, God only knows for sure. But the Bible is full of accounts of God raising up a nation to judge another nation that was full of wickedness so it is certainly within the scope of Biblical teaching that God could have used the United States to judge Iraq.

I'm a Christian and I do support the fact that we got rid of a tyrranical ruler and set up a democracy in Iraq (although, there could have been a less violent way to do so), however I don't support the war anymore because we're just over there now to lower our gas prices while I'm sitting here in Iowa surrounded by corfields aplenty which is a great source of ethanol and our gas prices here are lower than dirt right now as a result. Using corn for ethanol also makes corn more valuable and supports our farmers better. We should get our butts out of there and start using our surplus corn for gosh sake.
I do support the troops. Pray for the troops.

i do not believe bush got the approval of god to attack... christians have the new testament and god giving approval for that would essentially go against everything taught in the new testament.
i support the war because in the end we have helped a lot of people and continue to protect and help the innocents that are there.

I for one do not support the war in Iraq. I never heard it said that Bush had God's approval. I have a son there. Can you see my position?

Probably the same reason non Christians support the war. They really think Bush is doing good in the Middle east and making the world a better place. I don't agree with that. But I don't think it is a theological issue, necessarily.

Why would any sane person not support responding to attacks on US soil that caused billions of dollars in damage and killed several thousand people?
The former regime was a friend of Al Queda and posed a significant continued threat to the security of the United States. Yes, many people would rather see the criminals being attacked in Iraq murdering civilians in the United States, but it is better for the country to defeat them before they orchestrate more terrorist attacks inside US borders.

Patriotism is a big part of most religions. This forms a strong faith for one's own country against others. U might have heard this quoter before, " It's my country, right or wrong." Jesus did tell his followers have love among themselves and to even love their enemies. His last words to Peter were " Return your sword to its place for he that takes the sword will perish by the sword." Matthew 26; 52

Surely no one is deluded enough to support it any more? The biggest political blunder and most needless waste of innocent life in the modern era-what an indictment of the west.
