There are 2 things I know about Satan:

1. He wears a red Leotard.
2. He wants to cast my wretched soul into a lake of fire, where hellish screams and ghoulish demons torment me for all of eternity.

Question: What can I do to foil his Dastardly Plans?

Also, Sometimes I get the feeling that satan, gods, spirits, witches & hobgoblins are just "make believe". Is satan just playing a trick on me?

Okay, yes Satan is trying to fool you and bring you down with him by telling you God does not exist. He'll even convince you he doesn't exist if it pulls you away from God. Satan doesn't care if you believe in him or not. He's got his minions, and he knows he's going down, so all he cares about is bringing us down with him.
As for 1 and 2:
1. He does not wear a red leotard (funny image, though, thank you).
2. He wants to pull you away from God and cause you to suffer, but it's not going to be in an actual lake of fire. The lake of fire was a metephor for torment, symbolic of the actual here-on-earth man-made lake of fire people created to throw their children in as sacrifices to idols and false gods. It regards hell as a time of misery after death, when you know everything you've done wrong and realize all the consequences. A killer realizes the magnitude of the pain and suffering they've caused, a thief realizes what they've done, those who abort their children or otherwise kill them hear the screams of their children and feel their pain. Everyone feels the affects of what they have done. It comes from perfect knowledge. It is not God thrashing you or punishing you. It is the realization of everything and everyone and seeing all as God sees it.

As for question of how to "foil his Dastardly Plans" (and I like that), just have faith in He who created us. Believe in God and obey Him. Do not let Satan bring you down. You are far better than he is. Show him that.

If you believe there is a Satan then there must also be a God.
God is not perfect because of sin. Even in Heaven there was
sin so he cast out the demons and put them on Earth. There
was Satan and his 666 followers. They are the UFO's that we
see and the Devil's HQ is located under Uluru in Australia and
can only be reached underwater but not by humans.

I'm Virgil and I'm guidin' you through the gates of Hell. We are now in the Ninth Circle, the Circle of Traitors. Traitors to country! Traitors to fellow man! Traitors to GOD! You, sir, are charged with betrayin' the principles of all three! Quote for me the American Bar Association's Rules of Professional Conduct, Canon Seven.

In our belief the worst Satan resides within our own selves. We have what is called ROOH and what is called NAFS. Rooh is the ethereal part of our soul that wants us to rise above, rise to giving, charity, rise to prayers and connecting with the Almighty, which gives us strength to beautify His World in our little ways. Rooh makes us rise as human beings.

Then we have the NAFS or the selfish self, which is always looking out for yourself even at the expense of others. It take the easy way out regardless of the principles one has to trample to take that way. It is totally self centered and self nourishing and does not care about others.

The Prophet of Islam taught us to put your NAFS into such a state of denial and attrition that it shrinks in size and is small and sitting in a corner, always afraid that it will be denied some more. When it asks for good food, give it hardships until it is afraid to ask for good food. If it wants to take some rights of someone, take so much from it, until it is scared even to ask for its reasonable rights.

Satan in our belief wants to control our Nafs and would live to drive our Rooh into the corner, dispossessed and scared. A materialist person has given the Nafs control over their Rooh.

The greatest Jihad or struggle according to our Prophet is what happens internally between our two sides. Wants and desires are represented by the Nafs and the Rooh, which is always wanting to give and rise closer to the Heaven and the Almighty are in a constant struggle or wrestling match within our souls. It is ultimately an exercise of our will to subdue the Nafs and strengthen the Rooh so that We are in control of our own lives. Satan is but only a catalyst. He has no control on us. He can not force his will on us. We are in control. Thus we are to blame if we choose wrong and we rise when choose correctly.

I hope this makes sense to you.

God Bless you and may he guide us all to the Lofty Shining Path treaded by the lofty ROOHS of this World.

people have a tendency to humanize the unknown so they can have an idea of what they are. well satan, i dont know him personally even though i wonder if it's not my stepdad, will do anything to keep you away from God. that IS his plan, so how do you foil his plan? BE WITH GOD, as simple as that...if you have Him and Jesus on your side, NO ONE can harm you...Blessed Be

Satan isn't going to toss anyone into the Lake of Fire. He is going to precede those who fail to turn to Christ before they die. And if you don't believe in the Devil it could very well be because he is deceiving you about his existence.

"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:10-15

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:3-6

Satan is not real, you will never go to a hell, when a person is bad they don't really know that they're hurting themselves, you will live forever, but you can do without bad memories of yourself.
