My mother had one. Yes they are good cars. Since the company went bankrupt it is hard to find replacement parts and they are expensive. She sold her car because it was too expensive to replace parts.

I was actually looking into buying a Daewoo a couple years ago, I called the Daewoo dealership and he said "Don't buy a Daewoo." When I asked why he said "You cannot get parts for them, and the company is going bankrupt and probably won't grant your warranty."

daewoo is owened by the hyundai and gm corps the and are no longer made and are the worst car to try to get financed. Don't Buy them but a hyundai is a good relible car and cost a lot less than a honda. toyota nissan and more warranty.

How many daewoo dealerships have you ever seen?? That should be your first clue right there... If you're just looking for something inexpensive, go for a honda, toyota or nissan in your price range, they're a much better quality and last FOREVER...

The fact that the company went bankrupt would steer me in the direction of NOT buying the car.

Consider that since they went bankrupt that there is no parts or service organization out there to fix it if it breaks. People will try to tell you that parts from Kias or Hyundais will work on them but they don't.
