The leading Characters in the Bible heard the voice of God-when people around them did not hear the same voice-only they did. There is validity in the fact that these voices were heard in their head, which nowadays is attributed to mental breakdown/stress on the brain, due to overwhelming problems, where the inner voice takes on a manisfestation of "real voices",people genuinelly think they are hearing "voices". So that if they are worried about what is important to them ,these voices "dictate" to them as to what should be done, as they have no previous experience of this, they are apt to think God is communicating with them-this gives them a purpose of existence-which they want to pass on to others, because it is the voice of "God" In reality, it would be more usefull for God to communicate his "Voice" to all humans at the same time, then he would be believed more readilly! There are charletens, even in this day and age-like George Bush, who say God spoke to them
to sort out Iraq, but in reality why would God speak to idiots like George-even though God has a soft spot for idiots!
In the American Bible-belt, you will find plenty of preachers swearing God spoke to them and please can they have your hard earned cash if you want to go to heaven!

As most of people around here said, He does speak, but not in the way you expect (probably) and as he did before Bible was written, and I believe it's because He said everything we need to know. He also did everything that needed to be done, and only part that has to be completed is our part...

If you tell people that you have been speaking to GOD you usually get locked up, which would not be a bad idea if they locked up all the Priests, Vicars, Mullahs, Rabbis and what ever, the world would be a lot safer I am sure

Speech is made with the mouth-parts of man, and expresses the thoughts of man. God does not speak in any language understood by the mind of any man, nor does He speak in words spoken by the mouth-parts of any man.
The religions of the world and all their books, are not a record of God's thoughts, only the thoughts of men. This is why they create hatred delusion, and division.
To commune with God you must transcend all thoughts, ideas and beliefs. Empty your cup so that it may be filled. Know nothing so that you might learn. Cling to nothing so that all may be given you. Throw yourself into the abyss so that the foundations of truth may support your feet.

He didn't. He won't.
He does not exist.
Did you know that the four 'gospels' of the new testament have been narrowed down over the years, from several books which all contradict each other?
I do wonder why religious people never actually notice these contradictions...if they actually read their bible of course, which I am beginning to think that they do not.

He does. You just have to know how to listen. He speaks to everyone differently. He speaks to everyone in our hearts, and He speaks to His prophets as if anyone else would. He transfigures them so that they may see and hear Him and then speaks to them. Prophets are very much around today, just as they were thousands of years ago.
