I don't know what's going on with me. I've been extremely thirsty and no matter how much water I drink i'm still thirsty afterwords. This is how much water I drink....

*MORNING(BEFORE BREAKFAST): 2 or 3 cups of 18oz cups to 1 liter of water.
*MORNING(AFTER BREAKFAST):2-3 20oz bottles to 1 1/2 litter of water.
*DURING LUNCH: 1-2 20oz bottles of water.
*AFTER LUNCH:2-4 18oz of water
* WITH/AFTER MY SNACK: 2-3 18oz of water
*BEFORE DINNER: 1-2 18oz of water
*AFTER DINNER: 1-2 18oz of water
* BEFORE SNACK: 1-2 18oz of water
*AFTER SNACK: 1-2 18oz of water.

I don't even eat salty food. and each time I drink these amounts i'm still thirsty. I'm 16years old, 5ft 5inches tall and 111lbs.

***THE DOCTORS ALREADY TESTED ME FOR DIABETES BUT THEY SAID I'M JUST EXTRA THIRSTY AND THEY JUST LEFT IT AT THAT*** I'm just worried I guess.

I actually eat a lot...I think. This is an example of what I might eat but ovisally it changes since I don't eat the same things all the time.

Breakfast--cereal,yogert,water
Snack-- grapes,100 cal. teddy gram packs(they are good!),water
Lunch- 1 ham/egg crossiant, water,corn, chocolate milk
Snack- 1 bannanna, water, pudding
Dinner- 1 ham sandwhich,chocolate milk,corn
Snack- cereal,yogert and water.

I live in Illinois, it's cold right now. I dont' excersize. (Maybe i'll walk around my house for 10minutes once a day and stretch but that's bassically it.)

Getting tested for diabetes insipidus as suggested above is an excellent idea, and may solve your question. But if that's not the answer, I have some observations.

It looks like you are eating a lot of carbohydates compared to the rest of your diet. Do you have trouble with water retention? Even if you don't, try cutting back on the bread, cereal and sugared items and see if your thirst diminishes.

I'm also thinking it's likely that your body is trying to "flush" out toxins because of a slight allergy to what you're eating. Why not stop eating wheat for a while? Then try cutting out cow's milk for a while. Finally, you may want to cut out both. They're common offenders and you're eating a lot of each. Also, corn is another common allergen. See how you do with the thirst when those things are temporarily gone from the diet.

Many food allergies/sensitivities don't show up on standard skin-scratch allergy tests. For example, I'm absolutely allergic to wheat, with all the usual negative digestive symptoms. But it doesn't show up in a skin test. It's the same with the food sensitivities I have.

If you have even a slight allergy, continuing to eat the trigger foods causes inflammation. Inflammation in your gut is bad for every part of you, and will lead to long-term health ills. Doesn't hurt to find out now and make the appropriate adjustments.

I hope you find the answer. It seems like it would be difficult to get along well at school or on many jobs if you need to use the restroom frequently.

Maybe the ham you're eating, which is salty, could be causing your thirst. You say you've already been tested for diabetes? Excessive thirst is one of the symptoms of that disease, but even if your tests were negative, you might want to have them repeated if the thirst continues. Meanwhile, it's not a bad thing to drink a lot of water. Health experts say we should drink eight glasses a day. Maybe you should get a second opinion from an endocrinologist, just to make sure that you aren't diabetic.

You may have a different problem called diabetes insipidus (totally unrelated to the more popular diabetes mellitus)

Also known as "water diabetes," it is often mistaken for diabetes mellitus/sugar diabetes. It is a rare disease, not widely diagnosed, in which the kidneys produce abnormally large volumes of dilute urine.

There are four different types of Diabetes Insipidus . Each has a different cause and must be treated in a different way.

The amount of water you are drinking looks pretty suspicious for DI. See an endocrinologist. ASAP.

Drinking a lot of water a day is excellent; but drinking over 11 glasses a day is bad for you, because you're flushing away minerals that are very crucial to your health.
So, if you want to keep your weight down and stay healthy, stick to what you're eating, and drink water; but a normal amount (eight to ten 8 oz glasses of water a day.), and you'll still have energy without having to urinate hundreds of times daily.
Believe me, loss of minerals can result to arched backs, arthiritis at age 45, and the whites of your eyes turning gray. So, stay healthy, and drink a normal amount of water a day, and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't worry about it. You are eating enough to make up for the water intake, its not like you will dilute your blood or anything. I'll bet your complexion is great and your skin is supple. I drink that much (or More) every day and I feel great. If you are truly worried about it, have your doctor do whats called a basic metabolic panel. It tests your electrolytes and makes sure they aren't out of whack. If it is within normal limits, I wouldn't worry about it.
If you are worried about Diabetes, just have your sugar checked.

You probably need to limit the water intake a little and if your not happy with your docs response, get another opinion. Sounds like your going to the bathroom alot as well by intaking that much fluid. Do you excersie alot? Sweat alot? Live in a hot, dry climate or very humid climate?

Be careful not to drink more than 100 oz of water a day unless you live in a very dry desert like area. It can actually harm your body by flushing out electrolytes. The nutritionist I saw told me this...

You should weigh yourself 2x a day for a couple of weeks to see if you are gaining water weight.
Keep a log of your weight and how much you drink. Bring the log to your next DR appointment.

You might be borderline diabetic which is hard to detect. Get a second opinion! Are you on meds or supplements that may be causing your excessive thirst?

THEY say you must drink at least 8 glasses 8oz each a day. TRY drinking ice water see if you slow down.YOU must peepee a lot too.
