If the rice is not in a package with instructions and NOT Minute Rice, you put one cup of it in a saucepan that has a lid and cover it with water. To see if the water is deep enough, stick your finger in and see if the water comes up to the first joint on your index finger.

Cook the rice on high until it comes to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer and cover the pan. Cook ten more minutes, then turn off the heat. Let it sit for ten more minutes still covered before serving.

Shrimp and veggies can be stir fried in a frying pan or wok. Add about a tablespoon of oil (vegetable oil will work, olive oil is better). Stir them up with about a quarter cup of soy sauce if you have it. Soy sauce is not needed if you don't want the flavor.

Add more soy sauce if you want to.

Don't want to mess with the frying pan? Microwave the veggies and shrimp with a pat of butter or soy sauce. Serve over the rice.

fry off some onion & garlic with any herbs you like and season well. Put into a good sized pot and add shrimps, veggies & rice.
Add wine(enough to cover all ingredients) and simmer until all liquid has been absorbed and rice is cooked.
