because the dont eat properly some times while they are on a drinking binge they wont eat for days..that can lead to health proplems like schorris or uclers, if your uclers are bad enough when you eat after a binge you will throw up sometimes they dont have to eat to throw up if a ucler is acting up they will throw up blood

Are ALL alcoholics thin ? I think what you refer to is the fact that alcoholics who have become ill through drinking are usually thin. Because they drink instead of eating.. I spent about eight months getting 80% of my calorie intake from alcohol not food, I was also seriously dehydrated most of the time. Heavy drinkers are often overweight (hence the beer guts).

Alcohol has a lot of calories, but not fat. But if you look at alcoholics, they often drink instead of eating. Hard to eat with a hang over.

Because they never eat. If you eat the drink does not affect you as badly so most alcoholics will drink before they will eat to get the best effect.

That is a good question. It could be due to the appetite suppressing effect of massive alcohol consumption. Also, notice that many homeless winos have full heads of hair, moreso than the general population ;)

Ive always thought it was they prefer the alcohol to food and consequently don't each as much as they should do

I knew an alcholic and they never ate they substituted the food for alcohol.

Because they drink 24-7 & Forget about eating it's in their blood drinking that is I know this cause my brother is a drunk starts drinking @4am doesn't stop till he passes out & very seldom does him or his girlfriend eat no joke

Beer is said to be very fattening although wine is said to burn calories so it depends on what they are drinking i suppose.

Because drink is so addictive to them that they forget about food. Plus, they spend the best part of their lives throwing up or unconscious!
