7 card stud is a good game....but you're going to have to deal with bad beats in all poker games. If you're a good player, you can manipulate the luck factor in hold 'em & other poker games - but only so much. All good players suffer bad beats from time-to-time....you have to understand that it's a part of the game. And - just as you will suffer bad beats, you will also get your OWN fair share of suckouts on other people.

You have to understand that if you put your chips in the pot with the best hand going in - then that's all you can do. If you're in that situation and someone sucks out on you - that's out of your control.....you did the best you could do.

Just last night, someone ahead of me went all-in, I picked up a pair of Kings - I called. She had a pair of sixes. I was a 80-20%favorite to win that hand - but she caught a six, and that was it for me. It happens.....and I can expect to lose in that situation 20% of the time, but 80% of the time I will win....I couldn't have asked for a better situation, but the cards didn't run right for me that time around. I was disappointed, but I understand that that was the luck factor taking over.

Perhaps, though, there are other reasons why you are getting sucked out on a lot........perhaps you're not betting aggressively enough - and you're letting people stick around to catch a better hand. Are you slowplaying your Aces?? This is a mistake....if you're in the hand with a few other players - there's a good chance someone is going to catch something better than your Aces which are, after all, only a pair. The average winning hand in hold 'em after all the cards are out is TWO PAIR....so keep that in mind. So - perhaps you're allowing people to stick around to suck out on you.

The bottom line is, you're probably not as bad a player as you might think you are, and you're probably not as good a player as you think you are.

Study the game.....and if you're better than your opponents - you WILL WIN MONEY over the long-run........poker is a lifetime game....anyone can catch some bad luck or good luck over the short term.

Bad beats are actually GOOD for winning players....why? Because it's what keeps bad players playing! Without bad players getting lucky occasionally and winning, they would quit the game & never come back. Good players want as many bad players playing as possible....so a good player who loses pot here & there to a bad player finds it worthwhile in the long run - 'cause that bad player is going to stick around.

If you want a fair game where the skill ALWAYS wins - there's always chess.

I'm an avid hold 'em player, and trust me, if you are better than the people you play against, you will win money in the long run. I agree, it can be frustrating when you get all your money in when you flop a set, and have someone call simply on a straight or flush draw and hit, but the math is real, you will win that a lot more often than you will lose it.
Anyway, if you are looking for something better to gamble on, you'll probably have to avoid cards or dice altogether, because luck inherently plays a roll in those games in the short-term. No matter what you do, good luck, you're going to need it!

There are. A game like Draw Poker has a HUGE advantage for the player. If you live outside the US, try http://www.fortune-poker-rakeback.com as Fortune Poker spreads Draw Poker and 7-A Draw Poker which are both very profitable.

If you live in the US, a game like Razz might be for you. It is easy to pick up and most people are easy to beat at it. Plus it is very easy to tell if you have been out drawn, or if you have not made your hand. FTP is one of the few sites that spreads it http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/?aff=3425&code=?=0&ext=

Blackjack is the best. Tiny house edge so easy to make money if you know how to play properly.

There's a good "Guaranteed money-making" guide available free to download at http://www.playhard.co.uk on the left hand side of the page.

I've not tried it out, but these systems often sell for a lot of money.

Try pot limit Omaha, sometimes called PLO. They say it has a lot more skill elements to it than NLH. It might make a break from what you've been playing.

Stud poker requires more skill and memory, because more cards are exposed, necessitating recalculation of odds.

You need to specify which type of draw poker you mean.
