Only if you warn him to keep the weekend clear - if he has made other arrangements you are going to have one hell of a row. Suprises need planning and cannot be complete suprises without causing problems to the other person.
I am a female - but my friend had a similar thing happen to him and he was very upset, he felt that it was an attempt to control him, and by not telling him that she had plans it nearly ruined his freindship with people who had planned something else for the weekend which he did know about.
Good luck though and I am sure that, with some warning, he will love it - so long as he did not have bad memories from a previous trip that he has not told you about.

If he is the spontaneous type, he'll love it. I think nearly any person would love such a surprise. It's thoughtful and romantic. However, if he is the rigid type, it might throw off his schedule too much and he might be annoyed that he didn't have enough planning time to go on the trip with as little stress as possible. Believe me...there are people like that...they can't see the forest for the trees. So, in short, you know him better than us, so what personality is he?
Have fun.

This is fine, but where is the surprise? Why not instead fool him into bringing his passport to work and then say you need him to pick up somebody from the airport (a sick relative or something). When he gets there, then spring the holiday on him.

That kind of surprise was rated as one of the best spontaneous things you could do for the one you love on a recent article in a women's mag. My brother's girlfriend did a similar thing and booked their flight on a private jet - don't think they saw much further than beyond the hotel bed that holiday!

I'm sure that he'll love the surprise. Who wouldn't like the surprise? I'm pretty sure that once you tell him he'll say "wow! that's great!" or something like that and he'll give you a kiss and then you two will have an awsome vacation. So, don't worry about a thing and have fun. I wish you two the best.

Its exciting and mysterious. Very nice thing for you to do. Some guys are control freaks and dont like surprises. But I'm sure your fella isnt one of those guys or you wouldnt do this so yeah he'll like it.

WOW If he does not like surprise and this one in particular. Then there is something really wrong with him. Just make sure that you are always at his side and ready, for that is what he would want.

It depends on his temperament, but be advised I would not like it at all, I do not like surprises. In fact I just would not show up at the airport.
