Are you kidding me?... How old is he?... Something like that should not be done to a child's body, no matter what. They're perfect the way they are! Why would you ruin that beautiful little skin. -- If he's 18, and of sound mind, then he's ready to decide whether or not he wants to get a tattoo for himself.-- Not for his grandmother/father. --
I won't even pierce my daughters ears. I'm not going to put holes in someone else's head unless they want them.-- As soon as she is old enough to ask for them herself, then she can have them! But I'm not going to alter her body in anyway until she is old enough to make that decision her herself.

Here (Texas), Im almost 100% sure that legally it cant be done until your 18 (someone said the pain was so severe that it was considered child abuse, but they were crazy so who knows). Ive had 13 piercings, and have never found a place that would do tattoos under 18, but I have known people under 18 with tattoos.
I would say that bare minimum age would be 16....but thats rare.
However, I would wait until theyre 18 or older. You don't want a tattoo because its a fad (which it is as of now) because unlike normal fads, this one can't go away once you get it. If I had a tattoo when I was 16, I would highly regret it now (no matter how much I would have said I didnt) because my interest are nothingggg like they were - and i'm only 20.

It just depends on where you live.
Some places you can get them done at any age.
As long as the child has parental consent.
You'll need to take a birth certificate, maybe social security, proof he is ACTUALLY your grandkid, etc etc.
Some places may turn you down though because even though they want your money, they disprove doing tattoos on young people.
Personally, I think you should wait until he's old enough to make the decision for himself. My sister got hers done when she was 17, and she regrets it now, and shes only 24.
That's all the advice I can give you!

Most places require that you be at least 18 yrs old, younger if you have a parent/gaurdian permission. Be careful though, children's skin has not stretched to its full potential. You risk your tattoo looking like **** if you aren't finished growing yet. Also, be sure it is a design that you will still appreciate or want on your body years from now. Have fun, it can be a great bonding experience!

It all depends where you live, some states are 16, some are 18 without parent signature. I would say the youngest with parent signature would say 14 because, if he would lift weights or something, his skin is going to stretch.

Are you serious? Wait until he grows up and is old enough to choose his own...if he wants one, and not just because YOU want him to have one. My brother is a tattooist and no way would he tattoo anyone under the age of 17, and then he gives them a sketch of their chosen tattoo to take away, look at, and then decide

well to Begin with how old is your grandson? and most reputable places will not give any minor a tattoo to begin with.but if by chance you find someone that will. you will need his birth cert. and identification proving that you are his parent. and you are not. so you might not be able to get one for him

You don't get a tattoo until you're old enough to understand the implications of life long branding!
It is unethical to make that decision for someone else.
