Stephen cried out to God, and he called Him by His name, Jesus. Where is the right hand side of a spirit? The right hand of God is a connotation of the Power of God in scripture. Stephen saw Jesus is His rightful place of authority. There is no way he saw Jesus on the right hand side of an omnipresent spirit, that cannot even be seen.

It is so pathetic that trinitarians are quick to say Jesus is God and say the Bible proves it. They have indeed been blinded by the god of this system of things. See 2 Cor. 4:4. If they would just look at Acts 7:55, they MIGHT see these words: "But he (Stephen), being full of holy spirit gazed into heaven and caught sight of God's glory and of Jesus STANDING AT GOD'S RIGHT HAND." Did you see that? Was Jesus God or was he standing at God's right hand? In the very next verse, Stephen said: "Look! I behold the heavens opened up and the son of man standing at God's right hand." Again, I ask, who did Stephen see? God? Read it for yourself and see.

Steven called Jesus The Son of Man.

Act 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
Act 7:56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

let me rephrase the question

why?...
is what Stephen did as he died different than what Jesus did as Jesus died..

and is it a difference without a distinction or the same thing
"into thy hands I commit my spirit"

why did stephen fall on his knees and call on Jesus to help him... "Lord Jesus recieve my spirit" ... sounds like what Jesus prayed to the father a little earlier as Jesus died... only now directed to Jesus

in a way it goes back to Jesus trial... he told the people in the trial they would see the Son of Man at the right hand of power... and the same group was listening to Stephen talk about Jesus at Gods right hand... it was a God sized reminder... of course when they are judged will be another reminder.. but an unheeded one for most ?

No, in the death of Stephen we have another illustration of the one God who has revealed Himself to mankind in three "persons" for lack of a better word.

Stephen was filled with the Holy Spirit and He saw God the Father and God the Son looking down from Heaven.

Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

John 14:8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God....And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

NO! He did not!
Knowing Jesus, he called God, Jehovah! Jesus never claimed to be God, and while alive he used God's power not his own.
Remember Jesus was the very first creation of almighty God, It was "together" that they created the rest of material things.
Look at Genisis.........when Adam was created they said "Let us create man in our image"
