It is not loathed by ALL christians, but Catholic opposition to Islam is hardly a new thing.

Christianity throughout history has persectued any religion that isn't christianity. They destroyed the original pagan's, calling them heretics and stealibng their symbols and seremonies, encorporating them into their own religion. Christmas? Comes from the winter pagan festival.

The devil's trident? Look up Posiedon.
Ever seen an image of Isis and her baby god Horus? Looks remarkably like the Virgin Mary and little baby Jesus.

They persecuted the jews, and when Henry the 5th (I think he was 5th) decided he didn't want to follow the Pope's rule anymore it sparked a huge civil war within England, and Scotland. Between protestant's and catholics...Something that I find rediculous as they are basically just two different way's of worshiping the same God!

Christianity in general, doesn't like competition, same as any religion. 'Our God is the one true God and the rest are damned to hell.'

As for Islam being the fastest growing religion in the west...Perhaps people are finally getting tired of the hipocrisy involved in Christianity and looking for another way to fufill their lives. Also Islam is actually a very peacefull religion. Just like the bible, the Koran has some fairly, sexist, biased and old fashioned ideas...But at it's heart is the same message. 'Love each other', 'Do unto other's as you would have done unto you' 'Fight temptation' etc etc...

Traditionally musilm's are pacifists (just like Christian's once were before Constantine came along and said 'nuh huh we can't follow this religion if it's pacifist cause then we can't go to war and conquer tons of other countries') The Muslim extremists you hear about are technically not muslim's at all...They are doing the exact opposite of what Allah would wish them to do, according to their own holly book.

Besides...What's wrong with wanting to become Muslim? And why should Christian attitudes affect that? (rhetorical questions)

I think it has something to do with the fact that many believe that Christianity has failed. Has it in reality? --- No. But, many believe this to be true, so the West looks to the East for guidance with not only Islam, but Buddhism and Hinduism as well. Europe has become a secular continent where Christianity is dying and Islam thriving because of the many immigrants and converts. It is unfortunate because just because Islam is for many "something new", does not mean that it's true.

Islam is loathed by christians because in Islam, only God alone is worshipped, with no partner, son, or equal.
Christianity feels threatened by Islam because the religion focuses on Jesus being 'god' . What most christians don't care to investigate is what jesus actually taught, and it wasn't christianity!

I feel that christians are like this because if you look at christianity they have T.V and other sources they are like sales men and sales men hate competition. Muslims, and Jews could care less if you join them because they understand that they need God themselves so they dont have the time to talk bad about the the other religions and the one thing christians forgot is God said come ye of all nations and i will do the separating and remember in that time that it was written your nation was your religion

People take the time to look at Islam, not Muslims, or specifically not extremist Muslims. Those that like what they see convert. Those that don't, find another road to peace. The spirit and essence of Islam is far different from that practiced by some of its followers.

A medicine in the wrong hands can have disasterous consequences, but if taken correctly it can work fine. Those that dig into what Islam really means are the only true Muslims in my book.

Growing in the West. Sadly you're right. In Europe its because the liberal governments allow Islamic immigrants into the EU and they also want Turkey to join. Thats a big problem. Europe has no serious natural Islamic roots. Islam doesn't belong in Europe.

It's because Islam is the right religion and people are beginning to become wise and more aware..and so they are choosing a path that will lead them to heaven but it seems that some are blinded and cannot see to understand and feel what an islam community has/holds.

Muslim believe in God and call Him Allah.

because the west hates christians. duh.
"Real Christians" - an expression I have heard Muslims use (so no complaining about it) don't convert to Islam.
If a person who calls themself a Christian coverts than they never really were a Christian.
Just like the Bible says on the day of Judgement many will cry father father but they do not know him.
