I htink that they both release endorphins. I think that they can both give you a sense of euphoria. I think that they can both be addicting. I know that they both increase heart rate and metabolism....
BUT...cocaine is much deadlier and way more dangerous and illegal.

Cocaine doesn't release anything except brain cells. It isn't anything like exercise. I used to be a coke head and now I am a personal trainer and teach exercise, there is nothing similar about the two, they are both at the opposite ends of the stick. Exercise=good Coke=bad on all counts.

Interesting question! Sounds as if you have not done cocaine. Cocaine is a potent vasoconstrictor..leading to lack of oxygen to the brain hence the "giddiness" feeling. It also binds to nerve tissue causing excitation.
Aerobics are a bit different..actually get more oxygen in the system and to the brain and raise the seratonin levels of the brain at the same time. Seratonin is your own body's "happy brain drug" therefore the sense of well being is increased with aerobics.
Let's face it..which one is best for you and which one will do you in eventually?

These are numbers for ME (5'-7" & 145 lbs male) over the course of 1-hour on flat ground without wind: Walking @ 4mph = 375-calories (not an aerobic exersize for me) Running @ 7mph = 830-calories Cycling @ 17mph = 525-calories One important consideration though: Cycling 1-hour is not hard on my body and I could easily do it every day (ignoring time constraints). Running for one hour every day leaves my joints and back sore.

Well, they both release feel good hormones. But with exercise, it's more the endorphins which make you feel happy and alive. With cocaine, you get a big release of dopamine, it's far more intense, but doesn't last long. I wouldn't have compared the two before you mentioned it. HTH : )

It's not similar.
Being on cocaine makes you hyper & you forget about eating.
Exercising only boosts your metabolism but you still eat.
