It seems he did this a few times in teh bible to "Test" the faith of certain individuals, personally, I find a god that would ask such a thing to be repugnant and unworthy of worship.

God would never ask us to do such a thing. When He did that in the Old Testament it was Gods way of testing His new childrens faith. He was still learning how to be a Father. Our God is a caring and loving God.

He will NOT do it now. the sacrifice has been fulfilled in the death on the cross of Jesus Christ.

If you read the entilre account of Abraham in the Bible, you will see that God promised that his descendants would outnumber the grains of sand on a beach, so Abraham remembered that. And all the while Abraham and Isaac were walking to the place of sacrifice Abraham kept telling isaac, "God will provide". The account also states that Abraham believed that God would bring Isaac back from the dead if he had to.

You will see that God would not allow him to go through with it.

Remember, Abraham and God had close, face to face relationship. Do you?

God didn't make anyone ''go through with it', except himself. Jephtah, the Israelite leader you are referring to in Judges 11, foolishly swore an oath to God that if he was successful and returned home, he would make a sacrifice of whatever came out his door to greet him. Unfortunately, it was his only child, a daughter. She agreed to be the sacrifice providing he gave her two months to roam the hills with her maidens grieving, which he did.

As to sacrificing a child to 'test' my faith, in my experience, God always gives grace for the purpose and time at hand. And I can not imagine a situation in which I would ceremonially 'sacrifice' any living thing.

Hoping the best for you...

Let me ask you, did God ever ask for a sacrifice that He didn't provide the sacrifice??? If God told you to climb out on a limb....you could cut it off and He would hold you up! So to answer your question....yes I would prepare for the sacrifice....knowing that God was going to privide the offering and I know it would not be my child. However, how you ever considered that God sacrificed His One and Only Child....not only did He give him to a lost and sinful people, He gave him to a world of people who hated, disbelieved, mocked, cursed, beat, and betrayed! What LOVE!! Now tell me....what's repugnant and unworthy about that? We were the repugnant and unworthy ones, still God, GAVE and LOVED us, unconditionally!

Druggies do crazy things, religious folk are just druggies, they are in desperate need to believe in something and find a source of comfort from something, they are capable of doing anything in the name of this religion!!
Now one of the most unfortunate things about the bible is that these people can translate it (both testaments) to mean whatever they want it to mean, it really is a shame and they all need treatment, like a new brain would help!!

i'm a Christian and that i might want to no longer do it. i visit claim that i might want to and may want to probable flow accurate to the point of sacrifice, yet when it ever got here right down to it; i might want to fail God. I believe that God might want to not in any respect ask one persons to sacrifice our children in that way. he will ask for different sacrifices extra in song with todays international and situations. humorous element is; maximum persons fail in those elements too. human beings, consisting of Christians, fail alot. a minimum of we may be able to ask forgineness and verify out extra constructive the subsequent time. How large is God notwithstanding to be ready to attempt this for us. what number persons love the international and the human race a lot we'd want to be prepared to positioned our son to lack of life to positioned it aside? God did and did not even blink an eye fixed about it. there replaced into no ram in the timber, like there replaced into for Abraham. God knew what had to ensue and he did it, no flinching. exceptionally astonishing. What a amazing God we serve.

Nah. If God is testing me then it implies He doesn't know the answer to the question He's asking so it couldn't be God in the first place. It would have to be the devil or a Republican

YES! He gives us everything what we got! If He wants, He can take them back without asking us! If everything belongs to Him, how cant i sacrifice my child or myself from Him? He is the most worthy and the most merciful!
Anyway in Quran He asked to sacrifice his son for Him from prophet Abraham, and he accepted it but when he attempted to doing it, God send him a sheep n wanted from Abraham to not to kill his son! And in Quran God never wanted such a thing like that from anybody else!

Sort of a stupid question don't you think?
What are your views on the 10 commandments?
Your answers can be found in the Bible, but you need help if you don't understand. I could go on, but I doubt you'd understand....It's way over your head.

First I shall be so sure that is God
Second if that happened I'll believe in him to give life to dead

If I don't believe that my God respect my feeling as a parent. So he is not a God. As he doesn't respect the felling he created in me
