The problem with your statement is that nothing or any thing can come into or go across boarders between country's, the fact of it is, its only illegal if you are not willing to deduct the importation fee's from your profit margin, it is a hard thing for some people to deal with the reality of this thing that has been going on for years, if this is not enough then think of it like this, Americans pay in a small amount of taxes each year, only a small percent compared to the tax revenue generated by importation fee's, can you see what is going on? have you ever had unreported income, you may have allot of knowledge of public law and government law and the united states law, but some are above the law, and that is why this country is in trouble all the time, internal corruption and if you speak out you get locked up, do you really think a man or woman could carry 50lbs of Drugs across 35 miles of bad lands for days and carry food and water for the trip as well? to reach the amounts of drugs you are talking about it would take a army of people working 7 days a week to do what you say, the logic of it can't work that way, The U.S public will believe what ever the are told apparently'' but this will not change the facts, if your a large business selling shoes you want to sell in large amounts and you have dates that shipments must get to the stores,TRUE? then tell me why would you let children carry the shoes for miles and never get delivered on time, when you could just pay the importation fee's and send them by truck? America has a large set of blinders on, WAKE UP AND TAKE THEM OFF, or your country will never change, your future is the same as many 3rd world countrys, because of the greed of those above the law, you are wrong and i am correct deal with it.

good question. by the same standards why did they send the two boarder agents that shot the drug smuggler in the butt to prison for 11 and 12 years? why did they give the drug smuggler (who was an illegal) immunity to testify against their own? why are they allowing him to sue the government for 5 million dollars because of irreparable damage and pain and suffering (he was shot in the butt for crying out loud)? this whole mess is ridiculous and until the government stops being whishy washy and starts protecting it's citizens instead of worrying about what every other country thinks, it will go on and on and on.

Knowing all these about Mexico and our border we should and will close our porous border with Mexico. The problem is that there are a lot of pressure from American Corporations, Civil Unions, Americans pro illegal aliens, the Democratic Party, the Mexican government, etc. etc. So you see is not that easy. We the America people have to get together and choose with who we are going to be and defend, the American people, or the Mexican government, or the illegal aliens, the organization that support the illegals, the Democratic Party or the American Corporations. We as Americans have to choose because every day it get worse. Wake up America.

That is a darn good question. Our politicians are more useless now than they have ever been. Look at what the news is reporting all of the time. More and more they are getting caught up in corruption and lies! They have no honor and to state it plainly, they don't give a damn about the American citizens. I wouldn't be surprised if this question gets removed because it's the truth.

Because they (gov and business's) want that cheap labor NO matter what the cost is!!
You would think when the "war on drugs" was started that they would have closed down the border.
And of course Americans (that use drugs) are part of the problem, supply and demand, but I have to wonder what would happen if you take the supply away????

Perhaps they have misconstrued the 10 principles of immigration, but I also know we don't have enough agents to stop the drug runners. Its a never ending battle and until we secure our borders with our military we will not stop the flow of drugs.
1. The purpose of immigration policy is to benefit the citizens of the United States.
2. As immigration shapes the country, immigration policy should be set by action, not accident.
3. Policy is set by laws that are enforced.
4. There is no legal right for non-citizens to remain in the U.S, whatsoever. Non-citizens enter the United States as guests and may be removed at will by the government of the U.S.
5. The U.S. should keep track of guests while they visit.
6. Those who enter the U.S. illegally or remain beyond the terms of their visas are criminals and should be regarded as such. Anyone doing so should be permanently barred from entering the U.S. for any purpose.
7. Guests who will not be accepted for return to their home countries may be detained by the government until such time as their home country or suitable alternative country will accept them.
8. Adjustments of status must take place in the applicant’s home country. The only purpose bouncing among the alphabet soup of visa categories serves is to feed immigration lawyers.
9. There must be numerical limits on immigration. Numbers determine funding. If funding is set at one level and the number of people allowed is set at a higher level, you have a mess.
10. It is not possible for everyone in the world to live in the United States.

Along with the other well noted points already made here, the biggest reason is supply and demand. The USA is the biggest consumer of drugs. Like others have pointed out, it's big business!

Because drugs are good for the economy. Think of how much money changes hands and some of it even stays here instead of going to Mexico. And Bush doesn't want to lose his coke connection....has to have his blow.
