Try doing a select all from the edit menu. If you can then see your text then you have the background and font colors set to same value.

Your printer might not be configured properly. Ofcouse, it might have been working, but updates to MS Word could have made this change.
Try going thru print preview and there is a option to choose printer. Choose the printer that you have and then try to go ahead.

have u tried logging of and turning off ur computer and try it again ?
