If so, did you have any luck with them at all? My son just turned 2 and I am ready to begin potty training. Our pediatrician says I'm wasting my time at this age with a boy, but I'm not convinced that's true, so I'm going to start anyway. Everytime I give him a bath, he pees in the bathtub AND stands up just to watch himself pee so that leaves me inclined to believe that he knows when he has to pee. I bought some of the "Cool Alert" pull-ups but haven't opened them yet, and just wondered if any of you guys have used them and had any luck. Also, any other potty training tips would be welcome. I've not potty trained a boy before and I've heard it's much more difficult. My daughter was COMPLETELY potty trained by the time she was his age!!! Wish me luck and please give me your opinions!! Have a great day!!

We used them once with our almost 3 y/o son, but he hated them. He complained that it hurt his wiener if he did have an accident. The coldness was just too much for him. He only wears pull-ups at night and that is how we really got him to go potty. During the day it was underwears and at night "sleepy underwear. If you try to encourage him that they are real underwear, the less likely he will be to pee in them. We have 2 boys, the first wasn't potty trained until he was 4.5 y/o. The other we started right after he turned 2 and was potty trained with the occasional accident by 2years, 2 months. All kids do it differently, and all parents do it differently, the worst thing you can do it either push the issue with him, or make it seem like it's no big deal. Good luck:)

I have never been a believer in pull ups period. To me they were just like a diaper. I have two boys. They both potty trained at totally different ages. One was 1 1/2 and the other was 2 1/2. Just try taking him to the potty several times during the day and seeing if he needs to go. Make it a habit to go at the same time every day. Also, since you know he is going to pee in the bathtub, try putting him on the toilet then. You are to just go little at a time with boys. My youngest acted like he was ready, but then didn't really start potty training until 6 months later. Be patient, it will happen! Good luck.

Yes I use them for my 2 year old who will be 3 at the end of the year., but doesnt make a difference. Im not forcing anything on him. He is my 3rd son and the other 2 were potty trained by the time they were 2 1/2. The best luck I have with my son now is to jsut let him run around in tshirt and either underwear or no underwear. He doesnt like the feeling of pee running down his legs, so if he isnt wearing a pull up, he runs to the toilet. Wearing a pull up is the same as a diaper. They will go in it whether it feels cool or not. They dont work. Put him straight into underwear. You will be cleaing up messes for a little bit, but its just somehting you have to deal with if you want him trained soon.

My grandson is 2 1/2 yrs we have tried and tried to potty train him, but he doesn't seem to have an interest in it at all. Since yours seems intrigued with peeing in the tub, maybe you have a better chance than we have. Yes, we have used the cool alert and it works in as much as soon as he has wet it he will put his hand on it (the wet area), my question is what good does it do to know after he has finished? Girls are a breeze to potty train. Good Luck!

I didn't use them but several friends have and all of them said that they made absolutely no difference what so ever. They were a waste of money and a stupid ploy that the pull-ups people sucked parents into. Ahh... the power of advertising to frustrated parents. I would take the pull ups back and just be consistent. He'll get there, just remember even if you are ready for it, HE many not be. Good luck.

have you ever tried the Gerber fabric training pants with plastic pants over it? it's going to shop your fixtures from being ruined and they are going to sense uncomfortable. Disposable diapers or pull-united statesare too comfortable so there is no longer a lot motivation to apply the lavatory. If this is chilly outdoors then you actually can take her in the outdoor to play. If she wets her pants outdoors she will be ready to no longer be experiencing a "common sensation of warm temperature" yet she'll be freezing rather. I did this to my son at the same time as he replaced into 3. He got here decrease back in the residing house mutually with his teeth chattering and yelling "i'm chilly! i'm moist!". I informed him "See what occurs once you do not flow potty". He not in any respect even had one coincidence (in the course of the day) after that.

I never used them but thought they were a waste of money when I saw the commercial. I've never potty trained a boy, but my sister-in-law did. She let him run around naked in the lower half and he hated peeing and pooing on himself. He trained within a couple of months.

They don't work. They do no better than regular pull ups but they cost more. Stick with what you know works.. I like the huggies, I hated huggies diapers, but the pull ups seem to work well!
