Hello! I can answer the first question although I haven't actually experienced a section before I cant tell you if it hurts! Firstly, you will be in hospital for at least the first 3 days post section, so that puts the real early days out! You need to listen to your body, if you wound has healed and you feel ready to have sex then give it a try. If you realise that it has become to painful/uncomfortable, your obviously not ready for it. Also think of positions in which you haven't got direct pressure being put onto the abdomen (I'm sure you can think of a few!!) A lot of people will say wait until your 6wk postnatal check with the GP, but this rule isn't set in stone, you'll know when your ready, and when that time comes, enjoy!!

Same amount of time as a vaginal birth -6 weeks, no it didn't hurt it felt just as better as before I got pregnant. If you're concerned, just ask your doctor when you go back for your checkup. And it's not going to hurt because you didn't have a vaginal birth, it's an incision in the pelvic reigion so you wont have any vaginal pain. Please don't do like the rest of these girls do and do it before the 6 weeks. Because I know a few that waited 2, 3, weeks! And I know woman that got pregnant during her alleged "cool off period"! Let nature do its work before you do it all over again. Yes, your man is gonna make you break that 6weeks but don't do it. It was hard but we got through it!

6 weeks is normal, but for me, who wants sex after being up at all hours of the night tending to a baby? My second child was born 6 months ago, and I still don't have my sex drive back. Please remember though, you can still rip open your incision, so take it easy. I thought mine had healed, until I tried to get up off the floor playing with my oldest when the baby was about a month old. I ended up ripping a 1.5 inch hole in my belly that took forever to heal. Wait for as long as your Dr says, and don't overdo it when you do decide it's time.

My doctor told me to wait 6 weeks, because it can risk an infection. I only waited 2 weeks and it hurt a little. But after the sixth week it didn't hurt at all. It is best to wait the six weeks or however long your doctor tells you to.

Atleast 6 weeks in order to aviod infections and complications like Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, which is an STD, although can be caused by internal infection, commonly after C-sections.
If the woman needs more time after that, she will know when she is ready.

I've had two caesareans and I don't see why you shouldn't resume sex as soon as the stitches are out, you may want to wait until the bleeding stops. I just didn't feel like it ! ask the midwife, no-one told me any different, if it was dangerous or problematic I'm sure your hospital, midwife or doctor would have warned you ! I didn't have any problems with pain as I had elective c-sects so no vaginal tears or damage.
