Some do... Question back... Why do you need the button on the remote? If you are close enough to the dvd player to remove the disk how come you can't push the button?

it depends on the brand of your dvd player. all of our dvd players at home have the open and close button. maybe you should consider buying a different brand if you want your dvd remote to have the open and close button.

some do.

the reason to leave out that feature is that you will not be close enough to the device to grab the disk after you eject it.
