There's two types of sleep that you can have:Rem sleep (rapid eye movement), and non- rem (non rapid eye movement. When you dream it's rem sleep. Your sleeping and dreaming occurs in differnent increments and it levels off and starts all over... So for example, you at level 1, 2, 3, then you dream.. and then it keeps on going. So about 20-35 mins into sleeping you will dream Usually if you remember the dream vividly it means that you just had the dream. It's completely normal, nothing to worry about though. I would worry if you had a lack of sleep or couldn't sleep, that's when you worry. And another thing that will prompt you to dream more too is if you have something on your mind that you're thinking about before you go to sleep, you will have a dream. Don't ask me why it happens, but I'm a psych major and I learned about all this in class. Hope that helps.

I've had long clear dreams all my life but I don't always remember the details later. I mean, I am talking about long complex dramas with all the plot twists and everything. I have a theory. If you are an intuitive, imaginative type and you visualize alot during the day, you will tend to NOT have these long, clear dreams. Quite the opposite. Visualization does not come easy to me while awake but when I am asleep, the dreams are so very intense. Dreams, intuition, and visualization are right brain activities. My theory is that if the right brain is fairly inactive during waking hours, it becomes very active during sleep. Enjoy the dreams.

I've found the more I think about a subject rationally, the clearer my dreams become. Hazy unconnect dreams are a result of unorganized thought patterns during the day. Since you stated you are in college focused on learning, your dreams reflect this.

You will remember your dreams if you expect to remember them. Did someone recently tell you this?

I dream all the time and remember much of it, even have repeating dreams.

I think you are activily using your brain more than normal.

Dreams are your brain's way of working out problems. Do have a lot going on right now? Are you nervous about something? I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Clearer dreams are often a sign of stress.
The brain's screen saver, if you will.
It's completely normal and doesn't mean anything.

we dream to store memories into long term storage.

more dreaming for you could mean you are storing your memories more (because there are more of them)

this could be false and you could just be remember more of your dreams, yet you've been having the same amount of dreams all along.
