I got a traffic ticket for speeding 20 mph over in June 2006, 2 days later i broke bones in my right foot in a kickboxing fight,so the court granted me a continuance till sept. to pay my fee and to not show up in court. So sept came and i faxed in my guilty plea and i called they gave me till oct to pay, so i didnt think nothing of it, then the 17th of oct is when it was due, i called at 10 am and gave this lady my debit card number she said i was all in the clear-Next thing i know it doesnt come out of my account then i get 3 letters in the mail
1. Letter from MVD-registration and liscence suspended
2.NOTICE OF ARREST WARRANT
3. Misdameanor of arrest warrant-stating i have ignored request to pay set fine and or appear in court---------which it is sunday today i cannot call,
Im pissed because i did everything i was supposed to do and the lady that took my debit card number just made my life a living hell,
im a good person and a law abiding citizen what do i do???

Not sure if they have the same policy in the states, but here in the uk, all calls are now recorded. If that is the case, you will have a record of making the call on your phone bill. Find out if calls are recorded, maybe your only chance. Did you get the ladies name who you spoke to?

Go to court and explain this to the Judge. Be prepared to pay on the spot. If any funds were taken from your account have proof. People make mistakes, even in the clerk of court office.
Call the city attorney's office and explain. Work something out. Get a receipt, when you do pay.
You might need a lawyer and surrender to the court. Call the city attorney, they are the ones that can make a deal.
Get this done soon.

You need to get an attorney. Look in the yellow pages and make a call. Usually, the first discussion on the phone is no charge. You'll have a chance to ask questions and maybe even get a bit of legal advice. But my experience with the courts is that if you are not represented by a competent practicing attorney, you'll be all alone or have a public defender represent you (and they're lousy). This may cost you $1000 or so, but it will be worth it in the long run to have the misdeamor charge dropped and your license re-instated quickly.
Unfortunately, it will be your word against hers (the lady who claimed to have processed your fine). And she will not recall anything about it, believe me. She will desire to save her own you know what.
And, of course, you can learn from this experience. In the future, handle things as soon as possible in order to give yourself enough time to verify payment and such. And realize that you don't mess with the powers that be.

In New York You cannot pay for a traffic ticket with a debt card #1 only cash and you just gave the reason why they do not accept credit of any kind. Its looks to me that you miss to pay cause you didn't have the money or busy doing something else. So stop the lies and just say you made a mistake and say the truth. You need to show up for court and pay the summons or go to jail. Those are your choices. Do the right thing and move on.

I suggest get to the court house at 9 or when they open tomorrow with cash in hand to pay it you may have to be late for work or school but it is better than going to jail

Bummer. Your best bet it to go to the court house and 'turn your self in'. they will probably run you through the booking process, and what not, but when your new court date comes, present proof of your hospital stay, as well as any thing else you documented from the incident. explain that you have no prior criminal record and it is all a misunderstanding, and hope for the best. unfortunitly this is going to be a huge hassle, but you'll get through it.

Either way turn yourself in on the warrant. Just pay the bail price and talk to an attorney. I'm sure its less then 300 dollars.

you'll need to prove in court that the fine was paid... since it is not a canceled check from the bank, you'll need to produce the credit card statement or your Debit Card statement showing proof. Since you have neither, you'll need to go to court and it'll be their word against yours. good luck.

Even if your card wasn't charged you should have a receipt for the transaction that they can reference to and if not you may have to pay it again along w/a larger fine.
