I would prefer that only people with first hand experiance with the military answer.

MPs do not guard the gates!! They do however pull over speeders at Camp Victory. Where they live better than most do in the States. Mostly Infantry patrols outside the wire so MPs can sit inside the wire and chill out. The Infantry even patrols inside the wire.

You will either be training the Iraqi Police (good luck with that) or pulling over speeders outside the Chow Hall at Camp Victory. Either way, you will become bitter and hate not only your life, but the Army as well. If you have a high enough GT score and can get a Secret clearance, go PSYOP (37F).

The Mps really don't have a job in Iraq. What the Mp's are suspposed to do is done by other MOS's because the Mp's say they are worked to hard.

My father was an MP for only a couple of months because he could'nt stand it anymore.He says all you do is sit and listen,thats all you do.But you do get great benefits from the government

there are as many different answers to that as there are units. In my unit, the MPs watch a door.

they are police on the base and in the field(ie the combat zone) they guard the gates
