I grew up in an environment where we didn't use profanity except if we stubbed our toe or something. lol In another words not in everyday talk. I find myself getting turned off and offended when a guy uses profanity when he is talking to me. This is not sexual talk or anything, just general profanity like sh** or hell. I find it rude for a man to use profanity around a woman whom doesn't know well and that he is looking at as a potential date. I am not a prude but I just think certain language isn't acceptable with someone you don't know well as you don't know how that other person feels about it. I don't get offended if someone I know uses profanity although I don't like it at all but it just offends me when a guy isn't respectable and uses it. I tend to judge guys on this. If a guy uses it in an email or phone message, I usually avoid him. I want to be able to introduce a guy to my parents and not be embarrased if he says something profane even though I am 40 years old

In this day and age, I think it's going to be very difficult for you to find someone who doesn't use profanity casually. I'm very similar to you. I don't use profanity casually. I only curse when I hurt myself or when I am angry about something. Although I don't use profanity, I don't expect my guys to avoid using profanity. Using one or two curse words during a conversation is easy for me to ignore but if I find there is excessive use of profanity, i would just ask the guy "Why do you curse so much?" This normally indicates that I am offended by their language and usually they will try to tone it down a bit. Anyway, if you cannot tolerate two or more curse words during a conversation, then I would suggest you find a guy who share the same beliefs as you do. Otherwise, it will be very difficult for you to find a guy who does not casually curse at all. Cursing is like second nature when if comes to guys. Good luck!

I grew up not using profanity too...not even when I stub my toe...I just say "ow". I don't like it when my bf or my daughter uses any profanity at all and I tell them not to.

Well, that is ur preference and the way u were raised. So instead of not likeing someone becuase they are cussing, tell them how u feel , and how it makes u feel, and if they do not understand then they are not for u in the first place. SO speak up and stand up for what u believe in..
