Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

If I understand this scripture , If I believe, then my wife and children will be saved by my belief. And if anyone else wants to be saved, all they have to do is move into my house.

Is this correct?

that is a classic reversal of the age old statement "my wife has enough faith for both of us," that christians are always saying is wrong--who knew that the bible actually supported it?--besides you--thanks for the epiphany!

I think that, inherent in that scripture, is the belief that the head of a house will find all in his house following his example/exhortation, and would also be believing and acting in harmony with those beliefs.
A little more to it than meets the eye, umm?

Once you are saved you will want to spread the word and help others come to Christ. If you begin to bring those under your roof to Christ they will be saved. They see your example and begin to follow based on youand your life.

no one can be saved by another. this is a metaphor for your body. it is believed that heaven is merely a holding place for your soul. when the new world is created then u will receive your body back to u. it will be like new and free of defect. it will not age or waste away.

It is a matter of faith. It is giving GOD something that you are believing for him to do. The Bible is full of promises and HE cannot lie. So if you believe the word he will make sure he comes through. But you have to do your part.

No, Paul was speaking specifically to those jailers. God knew that the family members would accept Him.
