I met my fiancee online through yahoo personals. I was a little unsure about meeting someone that way, but I am so glad I did. The first time I met her, I knew right away she was the one. If your gut tells you to go for it then go for it. What do you have to loose. If it doesn't work out then atleast you tried, instead of always wondering if he was the one.

If you arrange to meet him, meet him in a public place - cafe, bar or wherever there are lots of other people. Never give your address or phone number before that.

Only meet in public places and not alone. It could be dangerous....or he could be nice.....don't go anywhere with him alone. Continue chatting and meeting in public.
Always have a friend along with you sitting or standing somewhere close in case he MAKES you leave with him. Get his license tag number etc....Do you know where he lives?
How old are you two? Please be careful.

Tell him you insist that he be checked for HIV. If he cares about you he will do it. I did a lot of dating in a major city, we checked ourselves regularly. I even took the women I dated to the clinic to be checked. You can't be too safe.
