These should have a MAP sensor on the firewall, somewhere in the middle(a liitle black box with a hose to the inlet manifold) Either the hose is split or the idle control valve is faulty. There are no idle adjustments on these engines (should have a 3S-FE engine code)

i too have a 4 banger but it's old and I have the same problem, but when it dies it wont' start either, it just turns over and over like it's out of gas, I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it idled properly so it wont' die, and someone told me to check timing on it as well. it could only be ur idle is set too low. u can adjust the idle under the hood look for the choke, this is easy and cheap if u don't know how to do it urself, I hope urs is a.t, mine is hard to keep running cuz it's a standard lol, need a third foot. good luck.

Are you buying cheap Arco gas or another cheap generic brand? That could be the problem.
Fuel line clogged?
Some foe of yours dumped sugar in your car fuel tank? Get a locking gas cap!
My dealership where I bought the car heard I wanted to put on a locking gas cap, they say make sure the gas cap is made just for that car, or it can cause a problem with the rest of the fuel line. So do you have a gas cap?

mine does that too!i have a olds.when iam sitting at a stop light, sometimes it will stall, but starts up again ok.i was told it is vacume problem, maybe thats your problem too.why dont you check all hoses by spraying some carb cleaner around the fittings where the hoses fit, also have your throttle position sensor checked, also what can cause it,is have your throttle body cleaned, that alone can cause it also.when was the last time you changed the air filter,it could be dirty and starving for air.good luck.

I'd be willing to bet water in gas. I had a 87' accord same problem. Happens if you go to empty on your tank or buying bad gas. Try changing brands and add isopropyl dry gas for next 2 or 3 tanks. may have other issues too, bad plugs, old plug wires, dirty air cleaner normal routine maintence should fix.

1) your petrol tank needs cleaning.
2) your corburator petrol inlet point is clogged.
3) The idle time settings is low.
4) the pump which suplies the petrol from the tank needs check.
5) Air supply filter chocked.
6) All these if set or checked your car will not stop.

Check your tune-up parts, like cap and rotor & spark plugs, and replace as necessary. Theres alos the idle air control valve that controls airflow when you dont have the gas pressed, can clean, may need to be replaced.

Start with the plugs, then wires, then cap an rotor. It sounds like you aren't getting enough, proper spark. Get a tune up and put in a tank full of premium gas.
