Basically the main ingredients have been laid out for you...two simple ones. Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil. Whatever you add to it herb and seasoning wise, will make it your own. I typically add a minced fresh garlic, coarse kosher salt, cracked black pepper, oregano and a little basil for some sweetness. For a little extra binding and distinct flavor, I sometimes will add a touch of Dijon mustard. And for the flavor of it, when I have some red wine available, I will add a touch of that as well. I typically use dry reds like Cabernet or Merlot. Have fun with this dressing, it is one you can make your very own when you use some creativeness. :)

Here's my favorite, and my husband loves it too. It's from epicurious, but I cut the amount of oil down a bit and add more Dijon and garlic. The honey works with it perfectly.

3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup olive oil
