I have lotioned after every bath or shower most all of my life. Especially since I was 14. Occassionally I will miss. Sometimes though. I try once a month to oil my body with Olive Oil. (like you use for cooking and I also use it to remove make-up.) I try to keep the olive oil on for about an hour then bath. I don't generally use lotion when I do this. The benefits: I have been complimented on my ultra soft skin many..... times and it is a major turn on to your mate. I vary my lotions and try not to use any that have alcohol as an ingredient or main ingredient as this will damage skin. Staying as natural as possible is always the best I find. I am now 52 years old and do not look it and neither does my skin. I have virtually no cellulite though I have had 5 children and for a few years had become overweight for awhile. I contrbute it all to lotioning and exercise, though it may of been sporadic at times and drinking grapefruit juice, just plain caring for this gift of body.

When I was younger and my skin softer, I did not feel the need to lotion daily, other than my hands which were in water a lot. As we age, our skin does change, get's drier, thinner and wrinkly...yep, no getting away from aging, but I hope you have a long time to go! Also, take into account environment like washing a lot, cold air, swimming, etc. You look and feel you skin...see if you think some lotion would be nice. No problem. Don't use too much soap if you do have driyin of the skin. You are washing off the natural oils when you do.

of course, who doesn't lotion after a shower. Taking a shower can dry out your skin, striping your body from it's natural oils. That's why it's important to put lotion on, if not, excess oil build up causing acne. The same goes for your face.

No I actually don't lotion my entire body at all. Only my face as soon as I get out of the shower.

I think it should be based on your own body. You should be able to tell if your skin is dry and not to mention if you are a person of color (brown skin) you may need more lotion than the average person so you don't walk around with ashy shin. Hope that helps boss.

I don't use lotion at all... except I use acne cream on my face twice a day, but that doesn't clog any pores so I don't see how lotion would.

Your absolutely right! It can be harmful in many ways.Instead of using lotion I use a moisturizing body wash that leaves my skin smooth.I suggest using Olay Ribbon Bady wash!

I lotion about every other day so that my skin stays moisturized, but it does not make me feel over moisturized or greasy.
