They want to try and make people believe that it is strictly a racial issue, and that those who oppose them are strictly doing it in a racial biased way. It's part of their agenda to try and get them accepted

Because that is the only card in their decks. Expect them to play it to the hilt. Remember, everyone is a VICTIM now, and nobody is accountable for their own actions anymore. Don't forget the express ticket on the ENTITLEMENT train. Anybody who questions this rationale is a racist, xenophobe, intolerant bigot, etc. etc. What they don't tell you is that illegal immigration is NOT about race, religion or ethnicity. It is the rule of law and what is right for America. What would you expect from people who only care about themselves???

I, as do most people who object to the illegal invaders, don't care what race they are. It just so happens that, at least in the Southwest, they happen to be Mexican. I could care less if they were from Mars. It is the liberals who pull the race card. They don't have any logical arguments, so they feel if they call the "secure border" people racist, it validates their position.

IMO, the illegal invader issue is the number one problem our country faces today. Because the problem is within our borders, it is the one issue we should have total control over. Pardon me for getting upset.

Why? If they make it sound like the illegal immigration issue is about race- or that illegal immigrants are some sort of new race- it will be easier for them to cry racism. Of course, they have no other real argument, and when people say "You're racist!" their opponent tends to get nervous and keeps silent. Now, if I am accused of being a racist, I laugh and say "So, what's your point?" This usually makes the accuser stutter and struggle to make his or her point, then stomp off like an angry toddler or leave the area embarrassed. ;) Even if you are not a racist, this works like a charm.

Yes, I have noticed that as well. Every time I ask a question pertaining to illegals, it never fails, there is always some ninny who calls me a racist. Could it be an IQ deficiency?

I don't really know. I guess it's all they can come up with. But someone above me said 'Mexican' was a race, so that should tell you something.

Excuse me...hmmm...Mexican is NOT a race!!!!!

... why do so many people want to make a major criminal issue out of somthing that is in reality a side issue and a distracting from the really grave issues facing the country? .. thats why ... because its obvious that they are so full of hate for no good reason other than ignorance that they must be racist.

You can copy and paste all you want. The fact remains that many people on this board use "Mexican" and "Illegal Alien" interchangeably.
