You need an amp that matches the RMS watts and ohms of that sub.

Here is some info on boxes (and other tips):

Oh and Tyson, please explain to us all how underpowering a sub will damage it.

Once a gain the ugly myth has raised it's head...(sigh)

Oh, here it is. The onyl way to damage a sub by underpowering it is to have the gain set wrong. The gain MUST MATCH the RMS volts of the HU to prevent clipping. Clipping is what damages subs.

To simply underpower a sub and cause damage is false. If this were true, then merely turning down the volume would damage a sub (low volume, low power). Subs would be blown right and left.

why would you get a sub such as the L7 and then expect not to spend a lot for the amp?? kinda silly there. you need to get a matching amp because underpowering the sub can harm it.

go to etronics.com they have some of the best prices and alot of diffrent amps.find one that matches the RMS of the sub.the cheap amps are listed higher powere than they are so get one that is alittle bit higher powered than you are looking for if going for a cheap amp.
