Mineral oil works well and is vet recommended. Just dip pieces of cooked meat in it and make sure she eats it. Do it late so it has all nite to work. But don't overdo it,,,,,,our dog is 22 lbs. and a teaspoonful is enough. You just want to get everything moving...you don't want a sloppy mess.

I would suggest mixing choped raw carrot in with her food. This will give her the fibre to push things along without putting weight,or causing fatty deposits.

Hi Donna
I think what your best bet is just some sugar and water mixed together,,,,, its sweet, won't cost much and diffenly will not do your dog any harm. Good Luck and a very good Question.
Thumbs up

Hiya Donna
Have you changed her diet? Being in season should not affect her toilet, i wouldn't recommend to much oils in food, once in a while is ok, but to much will cause cholesterol (fatty heart), try and give her some of your left over veg, mix it with her food or mix some fatty fish with her food (tuna in oil, sardines, pilchards, etc..)

Some dog biscuits contain charcoal which is a good aid for their digestive systems. Ask your vet for further suggestions.
