I do not eat meat. I wouldn't say I'm a 100% vegetarian (I will eat some turkey here and there, but no red meat, no chicken, no fish). Consequently, I eat too much bread-like foods and too much sweets. I am 27 years old, weigh 150 lbs and I am 5'6". I need to lose weight and need an idea for some type of diet that I could stick to within these requirements. I had some luck on Nutrisystem, but it is too expensive to keep up with. Any ideas?

Yes, I eat cheeses and dairy. I don't eat a lot of milk, but I do enjoy yogurt and cheese.

Im sorry but do you eat cheese, and eggs or are you vegan?

Im vegetarian and eat too much bread also. Its how I get my junkfood fix. Concentrate more on fresh vegetables and produce. for awhile. Also make sure you get enough protien, either through supplements or eggs, beans, nuts, etc. Cut the salt intake in your diet and excersise and you will get the results you need. If you don't eat any animal products. I can't help you.

Try getting a subscription to Vegetarian Times they have wonderful tasty recipes. Just remember to balance the foods you eat. If you want to lose weght then keep your carbs at 45 grams per meal.Eat your breads and sweets but take a look at the quantity of brocolli and salad and wild rice or beans you can eat for the exact amount of the carbs in that sugar.By counting the carbs in each meal you will learn the portions that are correct for each kind of food and it's fairly easy. almost all packages have that info. Also if you have a health store near you look at some of the Amy's organic frozen meals or pizza. A great choice for a vegetarian on the go

Protein and fat make people feel full. Carbs don't fill you up as quick.
you're challenge is to get more protein into your diet.

Try going to a health food store and pick up seitan or some other vegitarian based protein product. There's a huge variety of ways to cook this stuff with gravies, sauces, and veggies. It should improve your diet.

Megan,
I have been a vegetarian (no meat of any kind) for the past 14 years. When I first became veg, I ate too many carbs, too. Try to eat more protein!! (beans, peanut butter, soy) Try to avoid anything packaged, but insted eat fruits, veggies, brown rice, whole wheat bread... Lots of websites have great veggie recipes.

Well, its already purchased and the charges had been paid to the manufacturer (now not criticizing you in any respect) and eliminating it would not do an excessive amount of, whatever you COULD reside without that you have already got could certainly make a assertion, however I see not anything improper with retaining a couple of units you think like you do not want to aspect with feel you already possess them. I could be slightly cautious one day, leather-based is from slaughtered animals, which I can see you recognize, so simply inform your household you do not desire anymore leather-based items subsequent time a reward-giving time comes round. I'm certain they will appreciate the motives should you inform them.

Site below has all the info you need on one page. Has info on how meat can make one fat. It is due to fattening hormones put in it. It has healthy vegetarian foods. It tells how American Heart Assoc. says not to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry.

Also if you do a YAHOO search for "weight loss srategies" they will give you a list of over 6 million of them. This site comes up first (# 1) on that list!
