Your dog can contract rabies if s/he gets bitten by or bites an animal that has the virus. All domestic animals should be vaccinated against rabies, usually yearly. Some states allow a three year shot as well.

No. Condiments do not cause rabies. Only exposure to another unvaccinated animal with rabies will cause rabies.
