When I was 18 I left a note in the mailbox and called and told my girlfriend to check the mail..... Totally not the right way to do it.

Call or if you have been dating a long time do it in person, if he is the violent type do it in public but not where everyone can hear.

You didnt say why you want to dump him but I am thinking that why ever it is you want to dump him is what you should tell him.

Do you want to dump him painfully, or just break up?
If its just a breakup, then start by being busy when he wants to talk or go out. Then you can always say you are too busy with school or work to see him for a while. By then he will have taken the hint and maybe even found someone else.
If you want to break up mean, don't ask me. I once broke up mean with someone and had to interview for a job with him 5 years later. I didn't get the job either.

if we don't like something we don't do it. If your boyfriend is not a violent person then you shouldn't have any problems-if he is then you should break up and let your friends and family know. If he is normal he should understand, even though he might be upset.
