I bathe my cat in the kitchen sink. I hold her by the scruff on the back of her neck and wash and rinse with my free hand. Of my three animals, my cat is the most vicious. My rottweilers have never bitten anyone. My cat bites everyone including me. Still, she lets me bathe her in the kitchen sink. However, she did try to bite and claw me when I tried it in the bath tub.

Dawn dish soap? That will dry your cat's coat out to much..Try instead a Flea spray I believe it's called Hartz Flea and Tick? spray-red bottle sold at Wal mart..You spray her down well..drench her in it if you have to and the fleas will fall off..You will need and extra person to hold her while you do this.. Leave it on over night then in the morning bath her in Baby shampoo- once again at Wal Mart lol -generic will work just as good. And you will for sure need one extra hand with this b/c cat's are no picnic to give baths to..Your gonna wanna hold her at the nape of her neck and your gonna wanna be fast about it..Bath tub works better b/c there is more room.. Water should be warm not hot not cold ..Your best bet is to have the water running when you get ready to bathe her, so she don't run and close the bathroom door so if she escapes it;s only in the bathroom.. And forwarn your neighbors your giving the cat a bath in case of loud howling noises etc..lol..

get in a small room witha door preferrably a bathroom use the bath tub put a few inches of water in the bath tub put the water from a hose on its back NOT its head go buy some flea soap do not use dawn soap that is not meant for cats you ahve to get a specific type of flea shampoo lather the kitty rinse her off put a towel around her and take her out make sure the water is not too hot and not too cold and the kitty might pee some cats do that when there scared.

HOO boy more stupid advice, do any of you have any helpful advice?
Start by running the tub 1/3 to 1/2 full of WARM water
turn off the water and make sure you have all supplies ready (dawn does work really well, plenty of towels, cup, washcloth)
gently place kitty in tub, don't try to force her down in the water, she will freak out on you, but do not let her get out either
gently talk to her as you wet her down with your hands like you are petting her
use the dawn soap to create a "ring" around her neck to prevent the fleas from, pardon the pun fleeing to her head
Make sure you wash her thoroughly, top and bottom, leaving the top of the head, chin area, and front of the chest for last (don't forget to wash the tush too, fleas can/will crawl inside to avoid the soap and water), gently massage her while you are washing her and let the soap stay on for at least 5 minutes to help kill off more fleas
use a damp rag to help rinse off the top of the head, and the front of the chest, then just keep running water over her until the soap is gone, by this point you can use a cup to rinse her
make sure you have at least 2 towels bundled together for when you get her out, not only will it help soak up the water, but most likely save your skin once she is out-DO NOT LET HER OUT OF THE BATHROOM YET
Make sure you dry her off as much as you can, even if it means chasing her aound the bathroom floor with a towel, then let her out, she probably will be really pissed off at you for a few hours, but they get over it

So that you won't get scracth, if the cat not used to bathes, have anothe person hold his paws, and then start washing him. He will resist a lot, but with a calm, soothing voice he will relax. The face is the last thing you do, otherwise you will have a half bathe cat and water all over the floor, But do get someone else to help you.

cats will claw into whatever is in front of them when they are exposed to water. Place a mat in the tub for your cat to dig his claws into, place your hand on his back to push him down to onto the mat (before any water is added) After the cat is in position pour water over him, it is easiest and quickest with 2 people one to hold down the cat and one to bathe him quickly.

YES I DO! You put the cat in the bathtub and if you have like sliding doors shut the sliding doors and leave the cat in there for a while and let him or her get use to the water. I Do that all the time with my cat. It realy WORKS!!!

Cats hate baths, and soap will not kill fleas. Your vet will be able to give you a solution in a dropper that you put on the back of their neck that will kill fleas without having to bother with the mess of flea powder. Please don't bath your cat, it won't do any good and won't be fun for either of you.

Get a flea killer, like Advantage, then you can kill the eggs and fleas in the carpet with a fogger. It'll be much easier.
Putting most cats in water is like trying to put you in a bucket of acid.
