Its the Govt leaders who confuse and dictate their will on people.Fundamentally all religions have the same pillars of faith (like ten commandments) but few people in charge control the minds of their population. For example I believe in all the religions for their real accomodating ideals, as living with Hindus, Muslims, and Christians for long, I have experienced true love and brotherhood, but it is the country leaders and religious heads who plants confusion amongst the peo[ple. because secretly, every religion tells their people to hate the principal of other religion (but not the person). Ppl in higher position usually are backed up by a very strict religious community, and this community is fighting to implement a single rule based on the particular religion. So today goverment can be used as a mean (by its regulatory power) to spread a particular religion.
i don't like it either, we live in heterogenous society, but the society itself is created by a somehow homogenous principality. What i believe is ppl should be more concerened to humanity. Seeing a person as a human (with no additional attributes), an equal human being as ours.

There is no way that the whole world can live in harmony. There are too many differences. It is not all the governments' fault. It comes down to money and power.
