Basically, if you don't have a large collection with a refridg. unit, keep wine bottles on their side in an area away from light and heat. This will keep the cork moist and not affected by the elements as much. The bottom of closets has been recommended. I usually have a small space that doesn't get sun or near a heat register where the temp stays pretty constant (70 or below) where I keep a small wine rack for about 6 bottles. If you have a basement watch out for humidity levels. Just what I have picked up over the years.
