I have tightly curled hair, but it's not really coarse like most black hair. I've had my hair permed twice before mostly out of i didn't have any more options. I do not want to have super straight hair like the results of most perms, i really just want something that can loosen the curls so i can wear it out with some gel or flat iron it more quickly. Is that possible? Can I achieve this with a kiddie perm?

I do not want super straight hair, that's what most perms do. To re-state my question, will a kiddie perm give me loose curls? If not are there any other permanent or semi-permanent alternatives?

Hey Electra,
I have long, thin curly hair, but it's been hard to maintain. Lately, I've been looking for the right solution, and I found the perfect one: a straightening relaxer.

You can can not get loser curls by using a kiddie perm. I read in a hair book that a kiddie perm have the same amount of chemicals in them as adult perms. They Just made kiddie perms to attract little girls and their parents to let them perm their hair. You can however get a SILKENER to achieve this. A silkener is used to loosen up tightly curled hair and elongate the hair. Please see http://www.missjessies.com/index.htm for a before and after of a lady who had a Silkener. This can not be done at home you must find a hairdresser that does this.

the boxed perm she might use comes from a elegance grant homestead. those from the dep. shop are truly solid and could maximum possibly fry your hair and scalp. greater efficient off letting the pros do it. takes an prolonged time for hair to enhance back!

get a sensitive kid perm so your hair wont be so strait and it wont be as painful as a grownup perm.
