"When We decide to DESTROY a population, We first send a definite order to those among them who are given the good things of this life and yet trangress; so that the word is proved true against them:

then We DESTROY them utterly."

It is a passage by Muhammad. Here are the verse numbers for anyone who would like to read it in its entirety: 17:16-17

I think essentially it is saying that they will destroy the non-believers (those who have been given "good things" yet don't live according to Allah's will). It's another "infidels will perish" type passage.

I find it very angry and sad. I'd hope that people have more hope for humanity than to simply wipe them out due to their beliefs or lack of. Unfortunately, some in the world are using texts such as this as justification for violence.

Yup. That was Mohammad -PBUH - (Peanut Butter Be Unto Him)
On the other hand, the God of Jews, Christians and Muslims Himself ordered the very same thing on various occasions. Seems to be a tradition with that guy.

A man who says things like that needs self examination. He needs to change his personality fast. God tells us to love Him with all our hearts, soul, power and strength and one another as ourselves. If we love someone we wouldn't harm them.
Every man is a child of God and no one has the right to destroy a life that belongs to God.

want to know much worse than this, the Hell that God has prepared for those who disbelieved.
do you also want more things about God, mercy and forgiviness to those who deserve it, and a reward in paradise that no eyes, mind or heart ever imagined.

this is your God, worship Him alone.
