Excellent question! It is not so much as 'eating' dust that is a problem..., because the body 'cleanses itself through the colon, ridding itself of any waste products such as 'dust', which has no dietary, nor mineral nutritive value. The better question is what is happening with all the dust that you BREATHE into your lungs!?
The nose hairs and those 'boogers' which you flick at your fellow antagonists serve a purpose. That pupose is to catch as much dust as it can before any gets into your lungs which CANNOT cleanse themselves of any waste product... (lungs serve only to oxygenate the blood) I mean..., what is a booger anyway..., dust caught BEFORE it enters your lungs, right? If your lungs are full of dust, then that means less oxygen getting to your blood, and thus to your cells. That is why you see the proliferation of so many different kinds of air filters for the home and vacuum cleaners with 'micro-filtration' systems. Want to get an idea of the amount of dust you breathe in every day? Wear a simple dust mask like the kind you can pick up at Home Depot, or Loews for .37 cents. After a couple of hours it will get wet from all the perspiration, but on the outside of the mask, you'll SEE what you breathe in every day! (Don't let it scare you... right now...) As for your room..., don't just dust...,KEEP IT CLEAN!

Not a thing. We all "eat" and breathe dust because the major particles in dust come from our bodies sheding cells. It's not something to worry about.

Try purchasing the dust covers that attach to the registers in your room ~ ~ they really do help.
Also an air purifier for your room would help a great deal.
Both of these can be purchased most anywhere, walmart,
lowe's, etc.

Nothing good I can imagine. Try not eat dust. Clean your room, or your house. Buy one of those dust catchers/absorbers. It will probably decrease your lung capacity, which is not a good thing for you.

it may cause your lungs to get weak in the long run because as you live in a dusty environment, you will eventually start getting a little bit of dust in your lungs every now and then.
Try changing you air filter or switch to a better brand (you're supposed to change it every few months i think), its this big rctangular thingy that slides into a thin shaft next to your furnace.

unless you live in a quarry you cant eat too much dust. Its every where and your body naturally inhales and ingests it. This is why you have mucus and hairs in your nose, and mucus in your lungs. To trap it and expell it.
It is simply passed through your digestive system when eaten.
It does nothing to you.
