here are some suggestions to get wavy/curly hair. i havent tried some of them, but i ve heard that they work-
curl with iron or rollers
put some hairspray in ur hair before going to bed and the tossing and moving will create random waves
braid ur hair and when u remove it there will be waves
put some defining product in ur hair and keep twirling it around ur finger. then, finger comb gently through to separate the waves
use sea salt spray or surf spray. sea salt will give really pretty beach waves
use mousse
scruch it with gel
get a perm for a more lasting solution

hope that helps!

I use the rag curl method...found it at about.com.

Use an old sheet (or anything that won't have lint), cut into strips of 1 inch wide by 6 to 10 inches long, depending on how long your hair is. You will need about 40 to 50 pieces ( I only use 25 or so to get loose waves.) Wash and dry hair till 90% dry.

Section off hair to 1 to 2 inch pieces and wrap hair around rag, then tie ends together. Keep in mind the tighter the wrap, the tighter the curl.

Try and keep your wraps neat because it gives neater curls. Practice makes perfect, and it can be time consuming at first, but once you get the hang of it, it only takes me about 20 min.

Sleep on it and let it out in the morning using your fingers to place. Mist with hairspray if you so choose or use gel or mouse before wrapping for a tighter curl.

I don't use any product on my hair (it's really thick and heavy and straight and long) and it stays all day. It doesn't hurt to sleep on thou you look a little silly! What us women go through for beauty!

If you use a salt based spray. i know bumble & bumble has one. itll give some lift and wave to your hair. like the beach look. so its not messy, i would advise twisting little sections of your hair and letting my airdry. fix with a little MOUSSE when your hair is DRY just to perfect some of the waves. good luck!

this is not an ingredient but it is natural... wear braids when you home... take them out when you go out... will give a little wave
