I have fasted for many weeks at a time, and I consistently find that on the eleventh day of a fast I have the most energy and strength. So it must be after this that the metabolism actually slows down. I think it speeds up until then. But do not confuse slow metabolism with toxic fatigue. Keeping the bowel moving and elimination going is key to avoiding this. But the long term effects of long term fasting can be phenomenal. You will find yourself healing from things you did not even know were wrong, sleep becomes very pleasurable and your mind finds new liberation and abilities.

What? Slowing down metabolism? That's not a good idea...but if you don't eat for 3-4 hours it will slow down...That's why people say it's good to eat 5-6 small meals a day because it keeps your metabolism from slowing down.

There is no telling as to how many days of no eating it will take for your metabolism to slow down. However, if you are trying to lose weight, starving yourself is not the way to go. YOu body will fight you every step of the way. And it will actually be harder for you to lose weight in the long run. By eating every 2-3 hours, you will speed up your metabolism and thus burn more calories, making it easier to lose weight. You also need to pay attention to what you're eating. Lots of green vegetables and fruits, cut out the simple carbs and eat more complex carbs.

Well, this is hard to answer. Your motabolism slows down with in hours of not eating, and revs back up when you do. I would say you would notice a big dif after 2-3 days

I'd say after 2-3 days of fasting it would. Just cutting calories will make it slow down in about a week.

Never stop eating it messes with your mind and won't slow down your metabalism. Not eating is dangerous.

i'm not real sure but i'm thinkn y would u not want to hav any energy ur body will b sluggish n run down u should definatly eat ok u can always break down foods w other foods n excercise but dont lose ur energy

if u are trying to lose weight, thats not a good idea, as when u do not eat, u body thinks ure starving ureslef, so as soon as u eat anything ure body stores it as fat.. making u put more weight on , so u should eat properly
